Furnace Burner Market Size in Eastern Europe
In 2021, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in the East European furnace burner market, when its value increased by 43% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, furnace burner production rose remarkably to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the production volume increased by 38%. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X. From 2020 to 2021, production growth failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the amount of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers exported in Eastern Europe skyrocketed to X tons, surging by 28% on the previous year. Overall, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, furnace burner exports surged to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +104.0% against 2015 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
In 2021, Poland (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Romania (X tons) represented the key exporter of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers in Eastern Europe, committing 69% of total export. Russia (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Estonia (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons). All these countries together held near 22% share of total exports. The following exporters - Ukraine (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) - each recorded a 4.3% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Estonia (with a CAGR of +33.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Hungary ($X), Poland ($X) and Romania ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 66% of total exports. The Czech Republic, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.
Estonia, with a CAGR of +15.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+8.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2021, purchases abroad of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year declining trend. Total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, furnace burner imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Russia was the key importing country with an import of around X tons, which accounted for 52% of total imports. Hungary (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Slovakia (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Romania (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 36% share of total imports. Estonia (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to furnace burner imports into Russia stood at +2.7%. At the same time, Estonia (+26.5%), Hungary (+24.5%), Slovakia (+7.6%), Romania (+4.7%) and Poland (+1.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Estonia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +26.5% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Ukraine (-15.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Hungary (+9.7 p.p.), Slovakia (+4.1 p.p.), Estonia (+3.5 p.p.) and Russia (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Ukraine (-7.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers in Eastern Europe, comprising 54% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Poland ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Slovakia, with a 10% share.
In Russia, furnace burner imports expanded at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Poland (+8.0% per year) and Slovakia (+8.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, declining by -11.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020, and then contracted in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
