Slovakia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the games operated by coins, banknotes or discs exports, with a CAGR of +74.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Hungary (+61.8%), Bulgaria (+30.6%), Poland (+18.6%) and the Czech Republic (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Slovakia (+72 p.p.) and Hungary (+4.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Bulgaria, Poland and the Czech Republic saw its share reduced by -2.8%, -14.5% and -29.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.

Slovakia, with a CAGR of +23.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -53.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a dramatic contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the export price increased by 86%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Slovakia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (-6.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, imports of games operated by coins, banknotes or discs in Eastern Europe surged to X units, picking up by 121% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 860% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, coin game imports surged to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. At the same time, Romania (+20.9%) and Hungary (+9.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Poland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Bulgaria (-1.3%) and the Czech Republic (-13.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Slovakia (+75 p.p.) and Romania (+2.2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Poland (-3.6 p.p.), Bulgaria (-7.2 p.p.) and the Czech Republic (-61.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Romania, with a CAGR of +15.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -29.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the import price increased by 824% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
