In value terms, Latvia ($X), Romania ($X) and Estonia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 63% of total exports.

Romania, with a CAGR of +79.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per litre in 2022, jumping by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per litre in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($X per litre), while Russia ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.

For the eighth year in a row, Eastern Europe recorded growth in supplies from abroad of gin and geneva, which increased by 9.2% to X litres in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 30%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
