Overall, exports showed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 81%. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, hand-held blow pipe exports rose significantly to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 55%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
Poland was the key exporting country with an export of around X units, which recorded 47% of total exports. Estonia (X units) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X units), Russia (X units), Ukraine (X units) and Lithuania (X units). All these countries together held near 49% share of total exports. Belarus (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of +11.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belarus (+94.0%), Estonia (+61.6%), Lithuania (+60.1%), the Czech Republic (+30.3%) and Russia (+16.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +94.0% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Ukraine (-8.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Estonia (+19 p.p.), the Czech Republic (+9.7 p.p.), Lithuania (+4.7 p.p.), Belarus (+2.3 p.p.) and Russia (+2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Ukraine (-24.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest hand-held blow pipe supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 53% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Estonia ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland stood at +5.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Estonia (+58.1% per year) and the Czech Republic (+32.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, flattening at the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 12%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+1.9%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2021, overseas purchases of hand-held blow pipes for soldering, brazing or welding increased by 57% to X units, rising for the sixth consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, imports recorded a resilient expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, hand-held blow pipe imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X units) was the key importer of hand-held blow pipes for soldering, brazing or welding, creating 49% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Poland (X units), Romania (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units), together generating a 31% share of total imports. Lithuania (X units), Belarus (X units), Ukraine (X units) and Latvia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to hand-held blow pipe imports into Russia stood at +15.8%. At the same time, Lithuania (+28.0%), Belarus (+20.1%), Ukraine (+15.3%), Romania (+14.9%), the Czech Republic (+7.4%), Poland (+7.1%) and Latvia (+2.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Lithuania emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +28.0% from 2012-2021. Russia (+10 p.p.), Lithuania (+3 p.p.) and Belarus (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Latvia, the Czech Republic and Poland saw its share reduced by -2.8%, -3.9% and -8.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 67% share of total imports. Romania, Lithuania, Ukraine, Latvia and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Ukraine, with a CAGR of +17.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -20.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 8.8% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+2.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
