In value terms, hard plastic comb exports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 232%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Poland (X tons) was the largest exporter of hard rubber or plastic combs, committing 48% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Russia (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons), together mixing up a 46% share of total exports. Slovakia (X tons) took a little share of total exports.

Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of +23.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Hungary (+31.8%), Russia (+26.3%), Belarus (+24.8%), Slovakia (+22.7%) and the Czech Republic (+4.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hungary emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +31.8% from 2012-2022. While the share of Poland (+14 p.p.), Belarus (+7.3 p.p.), Hungary (+6.7 p.p.) and Russia (+3.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of the Czech Republic (-18.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest hard plastic comb supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 56% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hungary ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a 13% share.

In Poland, hard plastic comb exports expanded at an average annual rate of +23.6% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hungary (+25.3% per year) and the Czech Republic (+9.6% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -17.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 31%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+4.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of hard rubber or plastic combs imported in Eastern Europe was estimated at X tons, growing by 3.2% on 2021 figures. Total imports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 94%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, hard plastic comb imports rose to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +24.7% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 99%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In 2022, Russia (X tons) was the key importer of hard rubber or plastic combs, creating 45% of total imports. Poland (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 15% share, followed by Hungary (10%), Belarus (7.5%), Romania (5.5%) and the Czech Republic (4.9%). Ukraine (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Belarus (+20.8%), Hungary (+17.3%), Poland (+9.3%), the Czech Republic (+3.7%) and Romania (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +20.8% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Ukraine (-14.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Hungary (+7.6 p.p.), Poland (+6.6 p.p.) and Belarus (+6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia and Ukraine saw its share reduced by -5.1% and -19.9% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest hard plastic comb importing markets in Eastern Europe were Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and Hungary ($X), with a combined 66% share of total imports. The Czech Republic, Romania, Belarus and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 24%.

Belarus, with a CAGR of +16.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, flattening at the previous year. Import price indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, hard plastic comb import price increased by +21.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the import price increased by 29%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
