The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, heat exchange unit imports contracted to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Slovakia (X units), Russia (X units) and Poland (X units) represented the largest importer of heat exchange units in Eastern Europe, committing 68% of total import. The Czech Republic (X units) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Hungary (X units). All these countries together took near 23% share of total imports. Belarus (X units) and Romania (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, with a decrease of -1.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a slight slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 7.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while Slovakia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
