The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest cereal, fruit or nut chocolate bar supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 40% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Slovakia ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Bulgaria, with an 11% share.
In Poland, exports of chocolate bars with cereals, fruit or nuts expanded at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Slovakia (+4.5% per year) and Bulgaria (+10.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, standing approx. at the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 6.8% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +1.9% against 2019 indices. Slovakia, with a CAGR of +12.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, flattening at the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 6.9% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Slovakia ($X per ton) and the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Lithuania ($X per ton) and Ukraine ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
