At the same time, Bulgaria (+20.9%), Hungary (+20.8%), Belarus (+14.8%), Poland (+7.9%) and Slovakia (+4.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bulgaria emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +20.9% from 2012-2021. While the share of Poland (+3.1 p.p.), Bulgaria (+2.3 p.p.) and Slovakia (+1.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of the Czech Republic (-9.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest horizontal machining centre supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Bulgaria ($X), together comprising 79% of total exports.
Among the main exporting countries, Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +36.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, growing by 19% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight descent. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 85% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, horizontal machining centre imports rose significantly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 15%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Russia (X units), distantly followed by Slovakia (X units), Poland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units) and Hungary (X units) represented the main importers of horizontal machining centres for working metal, together committing 81% of total imports. The following importers - Ukraine (X units) and Belarus (X units) - each accounted for an 8.7% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +9.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
