Inductor Market Size in Eastern Europe

The East European inductor market declined markedly to $X in 2022, falling by -17.1% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, inductor production shrank to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. The total production indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, production increased by +84.5% against 2014 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was decline in overseas shipments of inductors, when their volume decreased by -4.3% to X units. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 27%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2021, and then shrank modestly in the following year.

In value terms, inductor exports totaled $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 19%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Exports by Country

In 2022, the Czech Republic (X units) and Estonia (X units) were the major exporters of inductors in Eastern Europe, together amounting to approx. 53% of total exports. Hungary (X units) took a 14% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Poland (9.7%), Romania (8.3%) and Bulgaria (7.2%). Slovakia (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Estonia (with a CAGR of +13.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest inductor supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Hungary ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Romania ($X), with a combined 69% share of total exports. Poland, Estonia, Bulgaria and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 23%.

Among the main exporting countries, Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +10.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 8.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the export price increased by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per unit), while Estonia (less than $X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+2.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Inductor imports fell remarkably to X units in 2022, declining by -24.9% against the previous year. Total imports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +6.0% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 41% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, inductor imports contracted remarkably to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +20.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

Imports by Country

The purchases of the three major importers of inductors, namely the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Slovakia (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 9.8% share, followed by Russia (8.2%) and Bulgaria (5.4%). Lithuania (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Lithuania (with a CAGR of +18.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest inductor importing markets in Eastern Europe were Hungary ($X), Romania ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), with a combined 74% share of total imports. Russia, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 21%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Lithuania, with a CAGR of +17.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 8.9% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 13%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per unit), while Slovakia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
