In value terms, Poland ($X), Romania ($X) and Ukraine ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 59% share of total exports. The Czech Republic, Russia, Belarus and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Belarus, with a CAGR of +81.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, reducing by -28.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 44% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+4.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In value terms, Russia ($X), Romania ($X) and Ukraine ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 71% share of total imports.

Ukraine, with a CAGR of +9.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, reducing by -12.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate measured growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 83% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2022, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
