The volume of export peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, fruit-preparation industrial machinery exports totaled $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 63%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Belarus (X units) represented the key exporter of industrial machinery for the preparation of fruits, nuts or vegetables, constituting 81% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X units), comprising an 11% share of total exports. The following exporters - Poland (X units), Slovakia (X units), Lithuania (X units) and Bulgaria (X units) - each resulted at a 7.1% share of total exports.

Exports from Belarus decreased at an average annual rate of -4.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Russia (+19.6%), Lithuania (+10.9%) and Poland (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +19.6% from 2012-2021. Slovakia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Bulgaria (-6.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Russia (+9.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Belarus (-10.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest fruit-preparation industrial machinery supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Slovakia ($X), Poland ($X) and Belarus ($X), together comprising 68% of total exports. Bulgaria, Lithuania and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.

Among the main exporting countries, Russia, with a CAGR of +9.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, shrinking by -6.2% against the previous year. Export price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, fruit-preparation industrial machinery export price decreased by -39.8% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 59%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, fruit-preparation industrial machinery imports in Eastern Europe was estimated at X units, flattening at 2020. Total imports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +44.7% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 25%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Ukraine (+9.8 p.p.), Romania (+4.3 p.p.) and Lithuania (+2.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -12.5% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported industrial machinery for the preparation of fruits, nuts or vegetables in Eastern Europe, comprising 45% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Ukraine ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia amounted to +2.1%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Ukraine (+11.2% per year) and Poland (-3.0% per year).
