In value terms, the largest instruments for measuring electrical quantities supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Romania ($X), Hungary ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), together comprising 77% of total exports. Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 15%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Slovakia, with a CAGR of +35.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 11% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, declining by -5.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 41%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
