Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2021, the amount of ionones and methylionones imported in Eastern Europe amounted to X tons, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year's figure. Total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -15.6% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 59% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. In 2021, the Czech Republic (X tons), distantly followed by Poland (X tons), Ukraine (X tons), Latvia (X tons) and Russia (X tons) were the key importers of ionones and methylionones, together creating 97% of total imports. Hungary (X kg) held a relatively small share of total imports.

Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
