In value terms, knitted fabric exports soared to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Belarus was the largest exporting country with an export of about X tons, which reached 51% of total exports. The Czech Republic (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Poland (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons). All these countries together took near 36% share of total exports. The following exporters - Slovakia (X tons) and Russia (X tons) - each finished at a 6.9% share of total exports.

Belarus was also the fastest-growing in terms of the knitted or crocheted fabrics exports, with a CAGR of +41.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Russia (+24.0%), Bulgaria (+17.8%), Poland (+7.9%), Hungary (+6.2%), the Czech Republic (+4.2%) and Slovakia (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Belarus (+45 p.p.), Bulgaria (+2.3 p.p.) and Russia (+2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic saw its share reduced by -5%, -5%, -5.7% and -11.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.

In value terms, the largest knitted fabric supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Belarus ($X), together comprising 51% of total exports. Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.

Russia, with a CAGR of +23.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 18% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a abrupt decrease. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
