In Poland, knife and scissors exports increased at an average annual rate of +21.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+12.0% per year) and Russia (+23.8% per year).

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 7.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +6.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 14%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +21.0% from 2012-2021. The Czech Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Poland (+5.1 p.p.) and Belarus (+3.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Ukraine (-2.7 p.p.), the Czech Republic (-2.8 p.p.) and Russia (-3.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest knife and scissors importing markets in Eastern Europe were Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), with a combined 71% share of total imports.

Poland, with a CAGR of +15.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by 8.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the import price increased by 11% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
