The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 256% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, kola nut imports reduced notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a slight downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 416%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then declined remarkably in the following year.

Poland dominates imports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near 91% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X tons), achieving a 5.9% share of total imports. Romania (X kg) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Poland was also the fastest-growing in terms of the kola nuts imports, with a CAGR of +44.2% from 2012 to 2022. The Czech Republic (-15.8%) and Romania (-29.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Poland (+84 p.p.) and Romania (+2.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the Czech Republic saw its share reduced by -87.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
