The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, lamp holder exports amounted to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 45%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

The Czech Republic represented the main exporting country with an export of around X tons, which resulted at 36% of total exports. Romania (X tons) held a 19% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Hungary (17%) and Poland (15%). The following exporters - Belarus (X tons), Slovakia (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) - together made up 8.7% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of +16.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) remains the largest lamp holder supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 48% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hungary ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Poland, with a 16% share.

In the Czech Republic, lamp holder exports expanded at an average annual rate of +16.6% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hungary (+4.9% per year) and Poland (+13.0% per year).

In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -3.6% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.0%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by 27% against the previous year. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

In value terms, lamp holder imports contracted modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 35%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then shrank in the following year.

In 2022, Hungary (X tons), distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X tons), Poland (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Romania (X tons) were the main importers of lamp holders, plugs and sockets, together making up 88% of total imports. The following importers - Slovakia (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) - each accounted for a 6.1% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +10.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X), Hungary ($X) and Romania ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 61% share of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +14.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 33% against the previous year. Import price indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, lamp holder import price increased by +43.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the import price increased by 41%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
