Total exports indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +105.8% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 32%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

The Czech Republic represented the main exporter of laptops and palm-top computers in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was near 63% of total exports in 2021. Poland (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an 11% share, followed by Hungary (7.6%) and Slovakia (6.8%). Romania (X units), Lithuania (X units), Bulgaria (X units) and Estonia (X units) took a little share of total exports.

The Czech Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of laptops and palm-top computers. At the same time, Estonia (+35.1%), Romania (+21.5%), Bulgaria (+12.2%), Poland (+9.3%) and Hungary (+7.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) remains the largest laptop and tablet computer supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Poland ($X), with a 7.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Slovakia, with a 6.8% share.

In the Czech Republic, laptop and tablet computer exports increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Poland (+11.0% per year) and Slovakia (-2.8% per year).

In 2021, Russia (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units) represented the key importers of laptops and palm-top computers in Eastern Europe, together comprising 54% of total imports.
