The Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +31.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the export price increased by 71% against the previous year. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 99% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

The countries with the highest levels of laser imports in 2021 were Russia (X units), Poland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units) and Ukraine (X units), together resulting at 80% of total import. Bulgaria (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 7.2% share, followed by Slovakia (5.1%). Latvia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Latvia (with a CAGR of +44.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest laser importing markets in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Russia ($X), with a combined 71% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Slovakia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Latvia, which together accounted for a further 20%.

From 2014 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
