The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

At the same time, Hungary (+18.6%), Ukraine (+16.7%), Slovakia (+9.0%), Poland (+7.2%), the Czech Republic (+7.1%), Lithuania (+4.8%), Bulgaria (+4.1%) and Estonia (+3.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hungary emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +18.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Latvia (-2.4%), Romania (-4.6%) and Belarus (-14.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia increased by +11, +5.7, +5.1, +3.3 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest machine-tool for working wood importing markets in Eastern Europe were Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and Ukraine ($X), with a combined 61% share of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Ukraine, with a CAGR of +17.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
