The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 2.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 9.2% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+3.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, machine-tool for working wood imports in Eastern Europe surged to X tons, picking up by 32% on 2020. In general, imports showed a slight expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 50% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -2.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Hungary (+18.6%), Ukraine (+16.7%), Slovakia (+9.0%), Poland (+7.2%), the Czech Republic (+7.1%), Lithuania (+4.8%), Bulgaria (+4.1%) and Estonia (+3.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hungary emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +18.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Latvia (-2.4%), Romania (-4.6%) and Belarus (-14.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia increased by +11, +5.7, +5.1, +3.3 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest machine-tool for working wood importing markets in Eastern Europe were Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and Ukraine ($X), with a combined 61% share of total imports.
In terms of the main importing countries, Ukraine, with a CAGR of +17.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, surging by 4.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a mild decrease.
