The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 195% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per unit), while Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lithuania (+17.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the machinery for liquefying air or gases imports, with a CAGR of +32.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Lithuania (+14.9%), Ukraine (+11.6%), Poland (+11.6%), Slovakia (+11.6%) and Hungary (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Romania (-5.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Russia (+46 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Lithuania (-2 p.p.), Ukraine (-2.5 p.p.), Poland (-2.5 p.p.), Slovakia (-2.5 p.p.), Hungary (-10.3 p.p.) and Romania (-19.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported machinery for liquefying air or gases in Eastern Europe, comprising 97% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hungary ($X), with a 1.1% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 0.5% share.

In Russia, air or gas liquefier imports expanded at an average annual rate of +35.1% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hungary (+45.4% per year) and Poland (+14.1% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, shrinking by -2.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the import price increased by 36% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Lithuania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
