Hungary dominates exports structure, accounting for X units, which was near 86% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Russia (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units), together achieving a 14% share of total exports.

Exports from Hungary decreased at an average annual rate of -7.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the Czech Republic (+20.0%) and Russia (+11.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Czech Republic emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +20.0% from 2012-2021. Hungary (+60 p.p.), the Czech Republic (+6.9 p.p.) and Russia (+6.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) remains the largest electronic lamp machine supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 53% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a 25% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the Czech Republic amounted to +19.3%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (+3.2% per year) and Hungary (-30.0% per year).

The volume of import peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, electronic lamp machine imports dropped dramatically to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 168% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

In 2021, Slovakia (X units), Romania (X units), Ukraine (X units) and Hungary (X units) was the largest importer of machines for electric or electronic lamps, tubes, valves or flashbulbs in Eastern Europe, generating 83% of total import.
