Exports by Country
Poland (X units) and Slovakia (X units) prevails in exports structure, together comprising 93% of total exports. Hungary (X units) took a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Slovakia (with a CAGR of +134.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest reticle manufacturing machine supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Slovakia ($X), with a 23% share of total exports.
In Poland, reticle manufacturing machine exports increased at an average annual rate of +13.1% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Slovakia (+178.9% per year) and Hungary (+122.1% per year).

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, jumping by 16% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a slight slump. From 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while Slovakia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, purchases abroad of machines for the manufacture of masks and reticles, semiconductor devices or electronic integrated circuits increased by 60% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports recorded strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 107% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, reticle manufacturing machine imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The level of import peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Hungary was the major importer of machines for the manufacture of masks and reticles, semiconductor devices or electronic integrated circuits in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports finishing at X units, which was approx. 49% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X units), Poland (X units) and Slovakia (X units), together generating a 33% share of total imports. Russia (X units), Lithuania (X units), Latvia (X units) and Ukraine (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to reticle manufacturing machine imports into Hungary stood at +18.3%. At the same time, Latvia (+73.6%), the Czech Republic (+40.1%), Lithuania (+38.8%), Ukraine (+10.1%) and Slovakia (+8.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Latvia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +73.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Russia (-4.4%) and Poland (-7.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Hungary, the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Latvia increased by +28, +13, +3.5 and +2.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Hungary ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 77% share of total imports. Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.
Among the main importing countries, Latvia, with a CAGR of +71.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 19% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 93%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+5.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
