In value terms, propylene oxide exports declined to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 898%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Romania (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) prevails in exports structure, together achieving 97% of total exports. Russia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Ukraine (with a CAGR of +1,223.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per ton), while Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Poland (X tons) was the main importer of methyloxirane (propylene oxide), generating 55% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Slovakia (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Russia (X tons), together generating a 44% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to propylene oxide imports into Poland stood at -20.9%. At the same time, Hungary (+16.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hungary emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +16.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Russia (-12.6%) and Slovakia (-23.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Hungary and Russia increased by +12 and +5.1 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Poland ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported methyloxirane (propylene oxide) in Eastern Europe, comprising 49% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Slovakia ($X), with a 24% share of total imports. It was followed by Hungary, with a 13% share.

In Poland, propylene oxide imports shrank by an average annual rate of -22.7% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Slovakia (-24.0% per year) and Hungary (+14.4% per year).

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 16% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 21%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Russia ($X per ton) and Slovakia ($X per ton), while Poland ($X per ton) and Hungary ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
