The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +35.9% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, mixed condiment, sause and seasoning exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +85.8% against 2015 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Poland (X tons) and Russia (X tons) were the key exporters of mixed condiments, sauses and seasonings in 2021, resulting at near 40% and 29% of total exports, respectively. Hungary (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by the Czech Republic (X tons). All these countries together took near 13% share of total exports. The following exporters - Estonia (X tons), Ukraine (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) - each finished at an 11% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +14.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest mixed condiment, sause and seasoning supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 40% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Hungary, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland totaled +8.1%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (+7.6% per year) and Hungary (+12.0% per year).

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 10% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Estonia ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 21%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Romania (with a CAGR of +11.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest mixed condiment, sause and seasoning importing markets in Eastern Europe were Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), together comprising 53% of total imports. Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, Belarus and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +10.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
