In 2021, overseas shipments of non-electronic hydro-, hygro-, psychrometers increased by 57% to X units, rising for the seventh year in a row after two years of decline. In general, exports recorded a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 63% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports posted a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 81%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Exports by Country

Poland was the largest exporter of non-electronic hydro-, hygro-, psychrometers in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was near 56% of total exports in 2021. The Czech Republic (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 19% share, followed by Ukraine (9.4%) and Russia (4.8%). Bulgaria (X units) and Slovakia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers exports from Poland stood at +55.5%. At the same time, Bulgaria (+56.9%), the Czech Republic (+30.5%), Slovakia (+16.4%), Ukraine (+5.4%) and Russia (+4.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bulgaria emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +56.9% from 2012-2021. In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 54% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Bulgaria, with a 6.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland totaled +49.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+24.5% per year) and Bulgaria (+22.1% per year).

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Export price indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the export price increased by 42%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per unit), while Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+1.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Eastern Europe

In 2021, overseas purchases of non-electronic hydro-, hygro-, psychrometers increased by 17% to X units, rising for the sixth consecutive year after two years of decline. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +94.4% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 20%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The countries with the highest levels of non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers imports in 2021 were the Czech Republic (X units), Poland (X units) and Russia (X units), together finishing at 72% of total import. It was distantly followed by Slovakia (X units), generating a 7.1% share of total imports. The following importers - Romania (X units), Hungary (X units), Lithuania (X units), Belarus (X units), Ukraine (X units) and Bulgaria (X units) - together made up 19% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +18.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Poland ($X), Russia ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 63% share of total imports. Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, Lithuania, Belarus and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 34%.

Slovakia, with a CAGR of +22.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 8.8% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 14% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($X per unit), while the Czech Republic ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
