In value terms, exports of organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds totaled $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 20%. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Russia represented the main exporting country with an export of around X tons, which recorded 47% of total exports. By contrast, Slovakia (-3.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and Hungary ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 74% of total exports. Bulgaria, Slovakia, Latvia and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 18%.

Among the main exporting countries, Latvia, with a CAGR of +35.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -6.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the export price increased by 32%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +55.0% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 41% against the previous year.
