The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 176%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cyclic hydrocarbons exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports faced a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 700%. Russia represented the main exporter of other cyclic hydrocarbons in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was near 83% of total exports in 2021. Belarus (+11 p.p.) and Poland (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -14.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest cyclic hydrocarbons supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 68% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Poland, with a 7.8% share.

In Russia, cyclic hydrocarbons exports contracted by an average annual rate of -15.1% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+24.0% per year) and Poland (+64.3% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by 46% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 190%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, purchases abroad of other cyclic hydrocarbons increased by 102% to X tons, rising for the sixth year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, imports saw resilient growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, cyclic hydrocarbons imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a resilient increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Poland represented the largest importing country with an import of around X tons, which recorded 66% of total imports. Russia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 17% share, followed by the Czech Republic (6.2%). Poland was also the fastest-growing in terms of the other cyclic hydrocarbons imports, with a CAGR of +44.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Russia (+16.2%), Belarus (+10.4%), Slovakia (+5.6%), Hungary (+3.9%) and the Czech Republic (+1.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Poland and Russia increased by +62 and +8.8 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Russia, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Poland amounted to +40.1%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Czech Republic (+8.2% per year) and Russia (+8.4% per year).

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 14% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%.
