The biggest shipments were from Lithuania (X units), Latvia (X units) and Russia (X units), together reaching 81% of total export. It was distantly followed by Poland (X units), creating a 7.6% share of total exports. The following exporters - Romania (X units), Hungary (X units) and Slovakia (X units) - together made up 10% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Romania (with a CAGR of +67.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Lithuania ($X) emerged as the largest pacemaker supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 49% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Latvia ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Poland, with a 12% share.
In Lithuania, pacemaker exports expanded at an average annual rate of +21.5% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Latvia (-8.3% per year) and Poland (+47.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, surging by 27% against the previous year. Export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the export price increased by 35%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, the amount of pacemakers for stimulating heart muscles (excl. parts and accessories) imported in Eastern Europe stood at X units, leveling off at the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 16%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, pacemaker imports rose markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Poland (X units) and Russia (X units) were the main importers of pacemakers for stimulating heart muscles (excl. parts and accessories) in 2021, amounting to near 31% and 23% of total imports, respectively. The Czech Republic (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 14% share, followed by Romania (8.7%), Lithuania (5.2%) and Hungary (5.2%). Lithuania, with a CAGR of +9.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, surging by 5.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 5.9%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per unit), while Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
