In value terms, ball bearing parts exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 32%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Romania (X tons), distantly followed by Bulgaria (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) were the major exporters of parts of ball or roller bearings, together generating 87% of total exports. The Czech Republic (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +8.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Eastern Europe
For the fourth year in a row, Eastern Europe recorded decline in overseas purchases of parts of ball or roller bearings, which decreased by -9.1% to X tons in 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, ball bearing parts imports amounted to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -19.7% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 25%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Slovakia (X tons) and Romania (X tons) were the largest importers of parts of ball or roller bearings in 2021, reaching near 33% and 23% of total imports, respectively. It was distantly followed by Poland (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Russia (X tons), Bulgaria (X tons) and Latvia (X tons), together generating a 35% share of total imports. Ukraine (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Latvia (with a CAGR of +78.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Romania ($X), Slovakia ($X) and Poland ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 66% share of total imports. Hungary, Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Latvia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 19%.
Latvia, with a CAGR of +36.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 12% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 26% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per ton), while Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
