In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -18.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 13%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+2.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2022, after six years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of personal weighing machines, when their volume decreased by -19% to X units. In general, imports, however, saw strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 35%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

In value terms, personal weighing machine imports fell markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 31%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to personal weighing machine imports into Russia stood at +10.6%. At the same time, Belarus (+24.6%), Hungary (+13.3%), Poland (+10.2%), the Czech Republic (+4.5%) and Romania (+4.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +24.6% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Ukraine (-1.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Belarus (+6.7 p.p.), Russia (+6.5 p.p.), Hungary (+1.7 p.p.) and Poland (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Romania, the Czech Republic and Ukraine saw its share reduced by -2.4%, -3.3% and -8.6% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 74% share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Poland, with a CAGR of +15.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, shrinking by -2.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
