In value terms, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -13.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 42% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of +29.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Ukraine (+39.9%) and Russia (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ukraine emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +39.9% from 2012-2021. Poland (+14 p.p.) and Ukraine (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -15.1% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest phosphorus, arsenic and selenium supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with a 9.4% share of total exports.
In Poland, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium exports expanded at an average annual rate of +20.0% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Russia (-16.2% per year) and Ukraine (+5.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (-7.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2021, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium imports in Eastern Europe expanded markedly to X tons, with an increase of 5.9% against 2020 figures. Overall, imports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 74%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium imports totaled $X in 2021. In general, imports enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 98%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Poland represented the major importing country with an import of around X tons, which reached 61% of total imports. It was distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X tons), achieving a 38% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +128.2%).
In value terms, the largest phosphorus, arsenic and selenium importing markets in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X).
The Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +57.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, dropping by -2.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a pronounced curtailment.
