In 2021, the East European photographic film market increased by 1.8% to $X, rising for the fourth year in a row after five years of decline. In value terms, photographic film exports rose sharply to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 19%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The Czech Republic (X square meters) and Poland (X square meters) were the largest exporters of photographic plates and film, photographic paper, paperboard and textiles and instant print film, sensitized, unexposed in 2021, accounting for near 27% and 26% of total exports, respectively. Hungary (X square meters) held a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Lithuania (9.6%), Latvia (9.3%) and Russia (6.6%). The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per square meter in 2021, growing by 8.7% against the previous year. Export price indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 25%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per square meter in 2018; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
