From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of +40.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In value terms, Hungary ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Poland ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 77% share of total exports. Romania, Ukraine and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 21%.

Romania, with a CAGR of +62.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 22% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the export price increased by 38%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +5.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 20%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
