Estonia (X tons) took a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +11.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Russia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 58% of total imports. These countries were followed by Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria and Estonia, which together accounted for a further 37%.

Estonia, with a CAGR of +11.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 19% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while Bulgaria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
