The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 25%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, plastic furniture fittings exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2018; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

Poland represented the main exporter of plastic fittings for furniture in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was near 45% of total exports in 2021. Slovakia (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X tons) and Hungary (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 48% share of total exports. The following exporters - Estonia (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons) - each resulted at a 3.9% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Slovakia (with a CAGR of +12.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest plastic furniture fittings supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X), Slovakia ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), together comprising 84% of total exports.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Slovakia, with a CAGR of +10.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 9.1% against the previous year. Imports in Eastern Europe

After three years of decline, overseas purchases of plastic fittings for furniture increased by 9.5% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, plastic furniture fittings imports rose significantly to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In terms of the main importing countries, Ukraine, with a CAGR of +9.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, flattening at the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.7%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 29%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Lithuania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
