The East European market for plastic or non-precious metal watches declined modestly to $X in 2022, remaining constant against the previous year. Overall, consumption saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the market failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, plastic or non-precious metal watch production totaled $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, recorded a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the production volume increased by 83% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production reached the maximum level at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Poland (X units) represented the largest exporter of plastic or non-precious metal watches, making up 41% of total exports. The Czech Republic (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Slovakia (X units), Lithuania (X units) and Russia (X units). All these countries together held approx. 44% share of total exports. Hungary (X units) and Latvia (X units) took a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of +9.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Latvia (+20.5%), Lithuania (+18.8%), Russia (+18.3%), Slovakia (+13.1%), the Czech Republic (+8.3%) and Hungary (+2.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Latvia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +20.5% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Lithuania, Slovakia, Russia and Latvia increased by +4.6, +3.7, +2.5 and +1.9 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest plastic or non-precious metal watch supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Slovakia ($X), with a combined 68% share of total exports.

Poland, with a CAGR of +26.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -4.9% against the previous year. Export price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, plastic or non-precious metal watch export price increased by +97.5% against 2014 indices. In 2022, plastic or non-precious metal watch imports in Eastern Europe declined to X units, waning by -2.1% compared with 2021. Total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -23.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 24%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
