Total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +28.5% against 2018 indices. The Czech Republic (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an 11% share, followed by Lithuania (9.3%), Russia (8.9%), Hungary (5.6%) and Belarus (4.6%). Slovakia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +17.5% from 2012-2021. Belarus and Slovakia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Poland (+13 p.p.) and Russia (+5.2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Hungary (-1.7 p.p.), Belarus (-3 p.p.), the Czech Republic (-3.3 p.p.) and Slovakia (-3.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest non-cellular polyethylene film supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 45% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Lithuania, with a 9.8% share.
In Poland, non-cellular polyethylene film exports expanded at an average annual rate of +10.6% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Czech Republic (+7.3% per year) and Lithuania (+8.8% per year).
