Total exports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, room deodorants exports contracted to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Exports by Country

Poland represented the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which finished at 44% of total exports. Russia (X tons) held a 23% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Bulgaria (11%), Hungary (9.6%) and the Czech Republic (8.2%). Slovakia (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Slovakia (with a CAGR of +18.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest room deodorants supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 38% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Bulgaria ($X), with an 18% share of total exports. It was followed by Hungary, with a 15% share.

In Poland, room deodorants exports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Bulgaria (+1.7% per year) and Hungary (-0.3% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, flattening at the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 15%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

After two years of growth, overseas purchases of preparations for perfuming or deodorising rooms decreased by -12% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, room deodorants imports contracted to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +49.9% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then fell in the following year.

The countries with the highest levels of room deodorants imports in 2022 were Poland (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Romania (X tons), Russia (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons), together resulting at 81% of total import. The following importers - Slovakia (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) - each finished at an 8.2% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +8.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest room deodorants importing markets in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X), Romania ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), together comprising 53% of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +11.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by 4% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
