The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, coated printing and writing paper exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 30%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Poland represented the largest exporting country with an export of about X tons, which recorded 43% of total exports. Russia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 22% share, followed by the Czech Republic (13%) and Lithuania (6.1%). Slovakia (X tons), Latvia (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +26.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest coated printing and writing paper supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 46% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by Russia, with a 14% share.

In Poland, coated printing and writing paper exports increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+5.0% per year) and Russia (+17.6% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 2.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a slight curtailment. In 2021, overseas purchases of coated printing and writing papers were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Overall, imports, however, saw a perceptible reduction. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
