It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), Romania (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons), together mixing up a 25% share of total exports. Hungary (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +23.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Romania ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 79% of total exports. Russia, Hungary, Lithuania and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 16%.
Hungary, with a CAGR of +23.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, growing by 8.1% against the previous year. Export price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, printing components export price increased by +54.6% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 46%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per ton), while Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+5.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2022, supplies from abroad of printing components decreased by -17.9% to X tons, falling for the sixth consecutive year after five years of growth. Over the period under review, imports showed a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, printing components imports shrank to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 21%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Russia (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) represented the largest importers of printing components in Eastern Europe, together mixing up 56% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Poland (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons), together achieving a 32% share of total imports. Ukraine (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +3.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country
The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 8.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 15%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($X per ton), while the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (+2.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
