In 2021, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in the East European razor market, when its value increased by 6.6% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Poland (X tons) was the main exporter of razors, committing 76% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X tons), achieving a 17% share of total exports. The following exporters - Russia (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) - each reached a 5.5% share of total exports.
Poland was also the fastest-growing in terms of the razors exports, with a CAGR of +7.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the Czech Republic (+4.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Russia (-1.4%) and Slovakia (-1.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Poland increased by +7.9 percentage points.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest razor supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 23% share of total exports. It was followed by Slovakia, with a 4.8% share.
In Poland, razor exports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+3.4% per year) and Slovakia (+2.0% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -9.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 27%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Razor imports fell modestly to X tons in 2021, dropping by -4.9% against the year before. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 47%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Poland (X tons), Russia (X tons), Romania (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) was the key importer of razors in Eastern Europe, comprising 86% of total import. It was distantly followed by Ukraine (X tons), achieving a 6.2% share of total imports. Hungary (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of +13.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X), Russia ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 59% of total imports. Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.
Among the main importing countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +2.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 11% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 15%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
