The Czech Republic (X tons) and Poland (X tons) represented the main exporters of sanitary ware and parts of copper in 2021, recording near 31% and 26% of total exports, respectively. Lithuania (X tons) held an 11% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Belarus (8.3%) and Romania (7.5%). The following exporters - Bulgaria (X tons) and Russia (X tons) - each reached an 8.7% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Romania (with a CAGR of +40.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest copper sanitary ware supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Lithuania ($X), together accounting for 76% of total exports. These countries were followed by Bulgaria, Romania, Russia and Belarus, which together accounted for a further 15%.

Among the main exporting countries, Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +39.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the export price increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+17.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of sanitary ware and parts of copper increased by 22% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 34%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, copper sanitary ware imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +105.0% against 2016 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

Poland (X tons) and Russia (X tons) represented roughly 48% of total imports in 2021. The Czech Republic (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Romania (X tons), Bulgaria (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 39% share of total imports. Ukraine (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +17.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 66% of total imports. These countries were followed by Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Ukraine, which together accounted for a further 23%.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 15% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.2%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
