The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 31%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

In 2022, Bulgaria (X units) was the largest exporter of scrapers earth moving, excavating, extracting machinery (not self-propelled), constituting 53% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Poland (X units), Russia (X units), Belarus (X units), Estonia (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units), together comprising a 45% share of total exports.

In value terms, Bulgaria ($X) remains the largest scrapers excavator supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 63% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Poland ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with an 8.8% share.

Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +15.8% from 2012-2022. Ukraine experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Romania (-7.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic and Belarus increased by +12, +6.5, +3.3 and +2.3 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported scrapers earth moving, excavating, extracting machinery (not self-propelled) in Eastern Europe, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Poland ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with an 11% share.
