The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a slight descent. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The Czech Republic (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 16% share, followed by Romania (7.8%), Hungary (6.5%) and Estonia (4.5%). Ukraine (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 16% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the import price increased by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per ton), while Estonia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
