Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of +15.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Russia (+20.0%) and Hungary (+3.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +20.0% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the Czech Republic (-3.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Poland (+19 p.p.) and Russia (+4.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Hungary (-2.5 p.p.) and the Czech Republic (-8.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest soap in different forms supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 75% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a 7.5% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a 5.5% share.

In Poland, soap in different forms exports increased at an average annual rate of +12.8% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (+8.0% per year) and the Czech Republic (+1.3% per year).

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 14% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
