The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 15% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, sweet biscuit, waffle and wafer exports rose significantly to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +68.2% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 20%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Poland (X tons), distantly followed by Russia (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Ukraine (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) were the main exporters of sweet biscuits, waffles and wafers, together achieving 89% of total exports. The following exporters - Slovakia (X tons) and Romania (X tons) - together made up 4.7% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +10.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest sweet biscuit, waffle and wafer supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 50% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Russia, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Poland amounted to +10.9%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Czech Republic (+6.1% per year) and Russia (+6.7% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by 8.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+3.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, purchases abroad of sweet biscuits, waffles and wafers increased by 4.7% to X tons, rising for the sixth consecutive year after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 15%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
