After two years of growth, the East European swivel seat market decreased by -4.3% to $X in 2022. The total consumption indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last decade. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, swivel seat exports reduced sharply to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +68.5% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

Poland prevails in exports structure, reaching X units, which was near 74% of total exports in 2022. The Czech Republic (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Lithuania (X units). All these countries together held approx. 18% share of total exports. The following exporters - Bulgaria (X units), Latvia (X units) and Slovakia (X units) - each amounted to a 5.5% share of total exports.

Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of +14.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Bulgaria (+37.6%), Latvia (+11.1%), the Czech Republic (+8.1%), Lithuania (+4.2%) and Slovakia (+2.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bulgaria emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +37.6% from 2012-2022. While the share of Poland (+30 p.p.) and Bulgaria (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Lithuania (-3.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest swivel seat supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Lithuania, with a 7.5% share.

In Poland, swivel seat exports increased at an average annual rate of +9.2% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Czech Republic (+9.2% per year) and Lithuania (+0.6% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, rising by 3.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the export price increased by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per unit), while Poland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+4.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after five years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of swivel seats with variable height adjustments, when their volume decreased by -30.6% to X units. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 55%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

In value terms, swivel seat imports fell notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 59%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then declined remarkably in the following year.

Imports by Country

Poland (X units) and Russia (X units) prevails in imports structure, together making up 88% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Ukraine (X units), mixing up a 4.8% share of total imports. The following importers - Belarus (X units) and Latvia (X units) - together made up 5.8% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +25.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Poland ($X), Russia ($X) and Ukraine ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 62% share of total imports.

Poland, with a CAGR of +15.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 6.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a mild decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 8.2%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
