The volume of export peaked at X units in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, tennis and badminton rackets exports contracted markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 56%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
Exports by Country
Poland was the major exporter of tennis, badminton or similar rackets in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports resulting at X units, which was approx. 46% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X units), Hungary (X units), Russia (X units), Romania (X units), Lithuania (X units) and Bulgaria (X units), together committing a 46% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to tennis and badminton rackets exports from Poland stood at +26.8%. At the same time, Romania (+92.7%), Lithuania (+32.0%), Russia (+22.1%), Hungary (+20.7%), the Czech Republic (+14.9%) and Bulgaria (+10.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Romania emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +92.7% from 2012-2022. Poland (+23 p.p.), Romania (+5.6 p.p.), Lithuania (+3.4 p.p.), Russia (+2.1 p.p.) and Hungary (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the Czech Republic and Bulgaria saw its share reduced by -4% and -4.6% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest tennis and badminton rackets supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 50% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Hungary, with a 9.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland totaled +23.0%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+12.1% per year) and Hungary (+10.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -11.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 37%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (-2.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Eastern Europe
After two years of growth, overseas purchases of tennis, badminton or similar rackets decreased by -22.3% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 76%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then declined remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, tennis and badminton rackets imports reduced slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 36%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then shrank slightly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Russia (X units), distantly followed by Belarus (X units), Poland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Hungary (X units), Romania (X units) and Bulgaria (X units) represented the key importers of tennis, badminton or similar rackets, together mixing up 90% of total imports. Lithuania (X units) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Lithuania (with a CAGR of +29.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Russia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 60% share of total imports. Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Belarus and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 31%.
Among the main importing countries, Belarus, with a CAGR of +22.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, rising by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible curtailment. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
