For the third year in a row, Eastern Europe recorded growth in purchases abroad of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing, which increased by 2.1% to X tons in 2022. Total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +5.9% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, textile tubing imports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +45.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 38%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Russia (X tons) and Poland (X tons) represented the main importers of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing in 2022, amounting to approx. 30% and 28% of total imports, respectively. It was distantly followed by Romania (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons), together generating a 33% share of total imports. Slovakia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +18.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In terms of the main importing countries, Hungary, with a CAGR of +19.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by 6.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a mild contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 15% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+4.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
